How to use it?

1. Place the TSD in your mouth i.e., it should rest between your front teeth and the lips. The protruding bulb is outside of your mouth.

2. The side with the small cut on the TSD should go to the bottom side of the mouth.

3. Squeeze the bulb to let out air.

4. Place your tongue in the tube and release the bulb. This creates suction vacuum and your tongue attaches to the bulb area of the TSD.

What causes snoring?

Snoring is caused by a narrowing of the upper airway during sleep. This can be due to large tonsils, a soft palate, a long uvula or excessive flabby tissue at the throat. All of these areas relax during sleep.

In other cases, nasal congestion from allergies or deformities of the cartilage between the two sides of the nose can contribute to narrowing of the airway.

Common causes of snoring

· Supine body position (lying face up)

· Large tonsils, long soft palate or uvula

 · A tongue that relaxes too much during sleep

· Being overweight

· Nasal congestion from colds, allergies or deformities of cartilage within the nose

· Menopause

· Consuming alcohol, medication or tobacco products within six hours of going to sleep

· Hypothyroidism

Who snores?

More than 60 percent of the adult population suffers from problem snoring.

This percentage increases each year in people aged 50 and older, as tissues in the upper airway lose elasticity and tend to vibrate more during breathing, increasing the incidence of snoring.

1 When the airway is reduced during sleep, the tongue is more easily sucked into the back of the throat and obstructs the airway.

· Sixty percent of men and 40 percent of women over the age of 40 are habitual snorers.

· Snoring is common in children between the age of 2 to 7, particularly if they have a chest infection or enlarged tonsils.

· Snoring is also commonly experienced by women during the later stages of pregnancy.

I bought the zenguard...

I bought the ZenGuard and all I can say is it's 10x better than the CPAP mask I used to wear and I was slightly skeptical at first (since I've tried other products like nasal strips and mouth guards) but the ZenGuard actually works. In fact, I just sold my CPAP machine on eBay - I was thinking about keeping it as a Hannibal Lecter mask for Halloween, but I'd rather have the cash.

This is my first ZenSleep product and I was a those AND throat snorer, so I wear both the ZenGuard and the ZenVents at the same time (I also ended up buying the snoring kit at a discount that appears once you start checking out). The product does work and it takes time getting used to it -- it took probably 3 days of a slightly sore tongue, but now it's perfect. My wife and I can finally sleep in the same bed again and we both don't wake up tired and groggy anymore. AND our marriage is better than ever -- I recently discovered that snoring is the #3 cause of divorce, and I refused to let that happen to me. Best money I've spent in the past 3 years.

so good. My husband says that my snoring has greatly ...

I am in the process of getting accustomed to this device, but so far, so good. My husband says that my snoring has greatly decreased, so it is working. Make sure that when you place your tongue in the device, apply enough gentle pressure to keep your tongue in place. No need to squeeze it. Good luck, and I hope it works for you too.

Peaceful Sleeping

I have been embarrassed over my snoring for years. I realized recently that I snore with my mouth closed. After researching, I learned that my tongue was blocking off my air and causing the loud snoring. In the past I have tried a no-snore throat spray, nasal strips, and even these inserts that go into your nose. Nothing worked. The first night I used the Zen Sleep Anti-Snoring, there was finally peace. I used an app to tape myself and there wasn't a peep from me. My husband said I didn't snore at all. The guard takes a little getting used to but it's not uncomfortable. I get up once a night anyway so I take it out and rinse it before I put it back in just to refresh my mouth. I don't think I have sleep apnea but I don't cough or startle myself anymore when I doze off. I wish I had discovered this sooner.

Wonderful product

This product has changed my sleep so much,it takes some getting used to but the first night I noticed a significant difference in how I felt in the morning. I am not as fatigued or exhausted by the end of the day, I can actually say I am resting for the first time in years. It works so well my mom, and sister have bought one as well.
